It’s good to spice up your life sometimes! Bhoj is an Indian restaurant located in the New Quay area of Docklands. I was tempted in as I strolled along the New Quay pier on a balmy night, enjoying the stunning views of Melbourne’s CBD across the water. When I walked by Bhoj, the glass walls were open and I could hear the laughter of an extended Indian family as they enjoyed dinner. The spices beckoned me in. The menu was full of surprises, such as the delicious tandoori barramundi. I found the okra curry was also tantalising. Hubby happily tucked into the entree sized tandoori platter, which had four different selections from their entree menu. This is a restaurant that even those who do not usually like Indian food might find appealing as the menu is not confined to curries. The waiters were helpful, although the restaurant manager was a bit grumpy.
Prices are reasonable – mains are around $16 for a vegetable curry, and $20-$22 for other curries. The barramundi is about $27. You can use your Entertainment Book at Bhoj. It is best to book, but they do have a take-away menu. Bhoj are open 7 days a week for lunch (12 – 3) and dinner (5.30 – 10.30). There is also a Bhoj restaurant in Templestowe.
